This program is designed for people that need to learn basic Spanish for their travels in Latin America. The program is designed for those just beginning to learn Spanish and lasts a total of 25 hours, five hours a day for five days. You can start with this program any day of the week including weekends.  In this course you will learn basic vocabulary and simple structures in the present, past and future tenses.  You will also have the opportunity to practice dialogues relating to hotels, travel agencies, and bus stations, as well as how to call for a taxi, shop, ask for instructions, etc. At the end of the program you will be able to have basic conversations with native speakers in many different situations. CEICA-PERU can also send a qualified teacher to your home or hostel so you do not have to walk or take a taxi to our school. The instructor can bring Spanish lessons to you daily, twice a week, or as often as you need for at least 3 hours per day. This service is only available for beginner to intermediate Spanish students and is available Monday-Saturday.  Payment is due daily after each class.

As part of this one-week program, intermediate and advanced students will attend both grammar classes and field trips guided by their instructors. Participants will have three hours of class every day and three hours visiting the historic center of Arequipa and other parts of the city. On the first day, participants will get to know the historical neighborhood, San Lazaro, and the Museum of Alpaca; the second day participants will be taken to the Plaza de Armas, the Basilica Cathedral of Arequipa, and the Compañía Church and Cloister; the third day participants will visit local artisans and lunch in a traditional Peruvian restaurant; on the fourth day participants will go to the Molino de Sabandía (the Sabandía Mill) in the historical town of Sabandía where they will sample traditional regional food; and the fifth day, after three hours of class, they will visit the Monastery of Santa Catalina.

This program is for people who wish to engage in volunteer work with an organization in Arequipa or for people who planning on staying in Arequipa and getting to know the city—where to shop, where to exchange money, the location of ATM machines and banks, how to get around the city, etc. The instructor will pick up participants from their house/hostel and show them everything they need to know about the city, from how to take a taxi to the best places to eat. This program is for a total of 30 hours, at five hours per day for 6 days. The program includes public transportation, snacks for four days and a full lunch.
